*BEST SINGLE: Michelle Branch-"Everywhere"- & true to the title it was. Very catchy and hopefully the start of more young singer/songwriter/guitar playing chicks!
RUNNER UP: Backstreet Boys-"Drowning"
*BEST CD: *NSYNC-"Celebrity"- This one was hands down the best that I heard this year and it's not because I love them. This album offers alot of songs that are just plain good and fun.
RUNNER UP: Josie and the Pussycats Soundtrack
*BEST FEMALE CD: Tie; Janet Jackson's "All For You" & Mary J. Blige's "No More Drama"- How dare anyone think or ask me to choose between my idols!! But besides being biased, in all honesty, these albums were really great and were a long time coming from both ladies.
*BEST MALE CD: *NSYNC-"Celebrity" I WAS NOT impressed with the male releases this year so *NSYNC win by default.
*BEST CONCERT: Backstreet Boys- "Black & Blue 2001 World Tour"- Sorry *NSYNC but the BSB were so awesome for coming back and they didn't keep me waiting for more than 15 minutes!!
RUNNER UP: Sugar Ray
*MOST ANNOYING SONG: Afroman- "Because I Got High"- No explanation needed.
*BEST VIDEO: Backstreet Boys-"More Than That"- Beautiful and simple just like the song.
*BEST USE OF A DIVA IN A SONG: *NSYNC-"Gone"- AKA "The Justin Show"
RUNNER UP: Destiny's Child-"Bootylicous"
*FUNNIEST VIDEO: tie- Blink 182's "The Rock Show" and P. Diddy's "Bad Boy For Life"- Nothing beats getting a homeless man pimped up and Ben Stiller telling P. Diddy he doesn't care what his name is.
*BEST VIDEO FOR AN ARTIST SHOWING THEIR TRUE COLORS: Britney Spears-"I'm A Slave 4 U"- The orgy/orgasim scene says it all.
*BEST MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: Mary J. Blige-"No More Drama" on "The Tonight Show"- Not taking a damn thing anymore!
*WORST MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: TIE- Willa Ford-"I Wanna Be Bad" on "The Tonight Show" and Artists For Life-"What's Goin' On" on the 2001 Billboard Awards- I do not like Willa but if you are going to be dancing while singing please be in shape for it. No one wants to hear you weezing your way through the song. "What's Goin' On" should have been great just like the recording but not having everyone there, not enought mics, and no organization really fucked it up. Where was Jermaine Dupree when you really needed him?
*FUNNIEST MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: Nick and Aaron Carter at the 2001 Teen Choice Awards-"Not Too Young, Not Too Old"- Sorry Kai, but this was some funny shit. Aaron thinking he's a pimp and Nick wearing the purple velvet skin of Prince and Barney's love child!
OK my fingers are ready to fall off from frostbite because it is so cold in my house and Nick is on his way home so come back tomorrow for Part 2 when I give awards in TV, movies, and random shit!!
